Proper cleanliness of the blades can resolve that problem. For that purpose, carefully open the can opener’s assembly and separate the can opener’s blades.

After separating the blades from the can opener, clean them with vinegar and hot water. For that purpose, keep the vinegar blades, but make sure blades are properly dipped in the vinegar. After an hour, remove the blades from the vinegar and scrub the blades with an old toothbrush.

But before scrubbing, dips the toothbrush in vinegar, after one or two times scrubbing, when you ensure that dirt, dust, and other residuals are removed, wash it with hot water. Dry the blades and then use them again, hope the blades will become fine.

Sharpen The Blades

If the blades of the can opener are still performing dull, then you should sharpen the blades. To sharpen the blade, arrange a long strip of aluminum foil, folding the foil to double to make it thick.

Now gently run the aluminum foil over the can opener blades and repeat it several times, but gently, do not apply much pressure; it may cause the blades’ breakage.

Test the blades, if they still need sharpening, repeat the above process two or three times until the blades become sharpen.

After several tries, the aluminum foil does not give satisfactory results; then, you can buy a new blade from the market to replace the dull blade instead of replacing the can opener.

After assembling the blades and other parts of the can opener, test it, hoping it will give a nice performance.
